This is a hybrid positions with 3 days a week (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday) onsite in Maple Plain, MN.

The Account Manager – Core is responsible for retaining core transactional revenue through working with current customer contacts and qualifying prospective customers that come through various mediums. A key responsibility of the role is to understand the customer’s project development cycles and timing phone follow-ups to ensure we secure and retain the business. Additional responsibilities of the role include, but are not limited to, managing opportunity pipeline, maintain pipeline integrity, ensure customers have a satisfactory experience that increases chances of repeat business, account development and transition to assist account alignment strategy.

What you'll do:

  • Build and maintain relationships with contacts and serve as they key contact person for all pre-sales and post-sale activities (quote generation, quote follow up, quote finalization etc.).
  • Maintain and grow sales of Protolabs services offerings for retention accounts, through effective cross selling and upselling to pull through additional revenue
  • Identify major risks/opportunities within the account and communicate to sales management for account transition consideration
  • Continually achieve/exceed AM activity metrics
  • Qualify leads coming in that are not assigned to sales reps to support acquisition for new customer companies
  • Develop process and follow up cadence to ensure opportunities are being managed appropriately
  • Accurately forecast opportunities and progress through the various sales stages
  • Manage interactions within Proto Labs to assure quality service of accounts
  • Maintain complete and comprehensive information in CRM
  • Champion of company initiatives, strategies and platforms.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned.

You have:

  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with decision makers at customer companies and successfully obtain referrals
  • Ability to successfully resolve customer conflicts
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Proficient with LinkedIn and other social media selling platforms
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively across different levels of professionals
  • Strong presentation skills with the ability to present in person and over the phone
  • Independent, dependable, resourceful and self-motivated
  • Ability to work independently as needed to reach sales goals
  • Organized and strong project management skills
  • Ability to make successful cold calls
  • Ability to expedite sales cycle by relating conceptually with decision makers
  • Demonstrated technical product savvy
  • Effectively manage multiple tasks without losing sight of objectives
  • Ability to shorten sales cycle and sell business value
  • Thorough understanding of minimum expectations around technical aspects of offerings

You also have:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business or related field or equivalent education and/or experience

Bonus points for:

  • 1+ years of experience with Business to Business (B2B) Sales, typically in insides sales preferred
  • Experience with systems and selling tools including, AX, E-commerce, [please apply online] Engage, PBI preferred
